Several states in the USA have been hit by severe storms. Colorado experienced heavy snowfall, while other states endured severe tornadoes. There have been casualties and injuries.
Multiple fatalities occurred during severe storms in the northeastern USA. The Sheriff’s office in Logan County, Ohio, reported significant damage and confirmed three deaths. The number of casualties may rise. According to the weather service, Ohio was struck by a “highly dangerous” tornado. “It’s total destruction. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life,” a resident of Indian Lakes town told ABC.
Thousands of customers were temporarily left without power. Reports of possible tornadoes also came from the states of Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, and Illinois. CNN reported over 20 injuries. Meanwhile, Colorado experienced heavy snowfall. Recently, severe storms had already hit the states of Kansas and Missouri, with hailstones as large as baseballs. US media referred to it as “Gorilla Hail.”
A police spokesman mentioned “many, many severe injuries” in Winchester, Indiana, without providing specific numbers. Reports from Milton, Kentucky, indicated at least 50 buildings damaged by storms. Widespread power outages occurred due to damaged lines. According to “Poweroutage.us,” around 50,000 households in Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky were without electricity in the morning. Many schools remained closed.
Experts attribute the increase in natural disasters in the USA – storms, floods, and wildfires – to the effects of global warming.
