According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Mosow was attacked by drones resulting in damage to several buildings. Security forces were mobilized, and residents were evacuated to safety.
The Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of launching a terrorist attack while confirming that all the drones were successfully shot down. However, the Ukrainian government denied any involvement and dismissed the claims as baseless.
Over the past few weeks, there has been an increase in drone attacks and shelling in both Ukrainian and Russian regions. The Kremlin blames Ukraine for the attacks targeting Moscow while many international observers believe it may have been orchestrated by Russia to justify their own violent actions.
The recent attacks come on the heels of Ukraine’s allegations of a deadly Russian drone attack on Kiev, which Moscow has denied. The tensions between the two countries have been escalating for over a year, raising the possibility of a drone war between the two capitals.
To make matters worse, there was also daylight shelling in Kiev on Monday, instilling panic among the residents. These events highlight the growing instability in the region and the urgent need for diplomacy to prevent further bloodshed.
