At least two people were killed in a Ukrainian missile attack on a Russian village near the border with Ukraine, the regional governor confirmed on Sunday, April 30. Several missiles struck Suzemka, ten kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border, said Alexander Bogomaz, governor of the Bryansk Oblast. “Due to the strike inflicted by Ukrainian nationalists, unfortunately, two civilians were killed,” he said on Telegram. “A residential building was completely destroyed, and two other houses were partially destroyed,” he added. Russian Villages and a Town in Kherson Left Without Electricity
The town of Nova Kakhovka in the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson was left without electricity after “intense” Ukrainian artillery fire, according to local authorities appointed by Russia. Five villages in the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, were also left without electricity after Ukrainian artillery fire, according to the local governor.
Massive Fire in Sevastopol
A drone attack caused a massive fire in an annexed Crimea oil depot in Sevastopol on Saturday, following Ukraine’s announcement that its preparations for a spring offensive were almost complete. The fire broke out in an oil depot in Sevastopol, home to the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, according to local authorities.
Poland Takes Over Russian School Building in Warsaw
The Russian high school building “will now belong to the Warsaw city hall,” said Lukasz Jasina, a spokesperson for the Ministry, adding that this is a “seizure by bailiff” procedure on behalf of the municipality. The city of Warsaw “took possession” of the building, said Deputy Mayor Tomasz Bratek later in the afternoon.
