Stocks of Casas Bahia, Magalu, and Renner lead losses in the Ibovespa; index falls

The Ibovespa, Brazil’s main stock market index, was down 0.31% at 10:27 AM (Brasília time) on Monday, September 25th, reaching 115,642 points. Casas Bahia (BVMF:BHIA3), Magazine Luiza (BVMF:MGLU3), and Lojas Renner (BVMF:LREN3) were leading the losses, while Weg, Hapvida (BVMF:HAPV3), and Suzano (BVMF:SUZB3) were experiencing the biggest gains in the index.

Here are the key corporate news:

Itaúsa SA (BVMF:ITSA4) – The holding company is expected to carry out the optional early redemption of 60% of the debentures from the first series of the fifth issue, amounting to R$1.6 billion. Preferred shares were down 0.22% at R$8.99.

CTEEP (BVMF:TRPL4) – Tomorrow, the company will hold its annual meeting with market analysts and investors, called ISA CTEEP Day. Shares were up 0.13% at R$23.92.

Blau Farmacêutica (BVMF:BLAU3) – B3 (BVMF:B3SA3) granted extraordinary authorization for the company to maintain, in free circulation, at least 16.52% of its share capital until its recomposition, which must take place by December 31, 2024. Shares were down 0.75% at R$15.80.

Petrobras (BVMF:PETR4) – The Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) has opened another accusation process related to the government’s appointments to the board of ineligible individuals. Preferred shares were down 0.12% at R$33.99.

Grupo Mateus (BVMF:GMAT3) – The credit rating agency Fitch raised the company’s rating to AAA (bra). Shares were down 0.44% at R$6.83.

Saraiva (BVMF:SLED4) – Jorge Saraiva Neto, member of the Board of Directors of Saraiva, President, and Director of Investor Relations, and Oscar Pessoa Filho, Vice President, have resigned from their positions. Shares were up 5% at R$1.68.

Eletrobras (BVMF:ELET3) – The company announced the liquidation and closing of the public offering related to its fourth debentures issue worth R$7 billion. Shares were down 0.54% at R$35.07.

Unipar (BVMF:UNIP3) – The company approved the Phase Out project for Diaphragm and Mercury technologies related to its Cubatão (SP) plant. Shares were stable at R$73.60.

Priner (BVMF:PRNR3) – The Board of Directors has submitted a request for a preliminary analysis of the primary public offering registration to the Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Markets Entities (Anbima). Shares were down 3.22% at R$10.23.

Multiplan (BVMF:MULT3) – The Board of Directors approved the distribution of interest on equity (JCP) in the gross amount of R$120 million, R$0.20 per share. Shareholders with positions on September 27th will be entitled to receive it, while “ex-interest” negotiations will start on September 28th. Payment will be made to shareholders by September 30, 2024. Shares were down 0.72% at R$24.74.

Weg (BVMF:WEGE3) – The company acquired assets from the American company Regal Rexnord for US$400 million. Shares were up 2.52% at R$35.40.

Localiza (BVMF:RENT3) – The Board of Directors approved a capital increase of up to R$365 million. The company also announced dividends in the form of interest on equity (JCP) of R$429 million. Shares were up 0.10% at R$58.20.

Ambev (BVMF:ABEV3) – Applications for the Trainee and Internship programs of the beverage manufacturer end on Monday. Shares were down 0.08% at R$13.11.

Marisa Lojas (BVMF:AMAR3) – The Extraordinary General Meeting (AGE) approved the grouping of all current 342,842,912 ordinary shares at a ratio of five ordinary shares to form a new share. Shares were down 1.59% at R$0.62.

Allos (BVMF:ALSO3) – The company agreed to sell 20% of Plaza Sul Shopping (SP) for R$120 million. Shares were down 0.04% at R$22.78.
