Gunman Fires 12 Shots at Man in Public Street in Girón, Santander

The violent scene took place at around 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 1, on 14C street with 11th avenue. The victim, who remains unidentified, was present at the location when the gunman appeared and, without concerning himself with the presence of bystanders, unleashed a barrage of gunfire.

The crime was captured on security cameras. The images show the victim approaching a parked taxi on the side of the road, exchanging a few words with the driver, and then distancing himself. Meanwhile, the hitman was already observing him from the opposite side of the road.

A few minutes later, the victim decides to cross the road, and at that moment, the hitman follows him and, after approaching him closely, fires 12 shots. The bullets struck the man in the head, chest, and legs, resulting in immediate death at the scene.

The hitman then runs towards where he left his motorcycle parked and flees the scene, while the taxi driver also leaves.

The victim, dressed in a white t-shirt, dark shorts, and flip-flops, lies on the public street to the horror of the local residents.

“The man was shot in the parking area of Brisas del Campo neighborhood. Several shots took his life, and we are unaware of the motive. The person remains unidentified but has a distinctive eagle tattoo on the left arm,” reported Major Edwin López, commander of the Girón Police Station.

Additionally, the authorities revealed that the deceased was of a stocky build with white skin and was estimated to be between 35 to 40 years old. The body was inspected and lifted by personnel from the Judicial Police (Sijín) and subsequently taken to the morgue of the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, where it remains unidentified.

The Police stated that they are analyzing the video footage from the cameras to identify the hitman and determine if there was any complicity from the taxi driver. They also aim to establish the motives behind this crime.

In Bucaramanga

During the weekend, a 34-year-old woman was also murdered by a hitman in the northern sector of Bucaramanga.

The crime took place in the early hours of Sunday, near the communal hall of Villa Rosa neighborhood. Érika Liliana Camacho Luna was there with her partner and other people when the assassin appeared.

The hitman, dressed in a gray suit, black jeans, and with part of his face covered by a face mask, walked to 8N street with 19th avenue, block 32. Once he was facing Érika Liliana, he allegedly asked her if she was involved in drug dealing.

Although the police report indicates that the woman and her partner were consuming drugs, her response to the stranger’s question was negative. “The subject stays observing her and asks if she sells drugs. The victim states that she doesn’t, and this person leaves the place. A few minutes later, he returns,” the police said.

At around 12:20 am, the criminal returned, approached Érika Liliana again, and after confirming that she was the person he allegedly sought, he shot her multiple times. “A son of the victim stated that his mother was in the communal hall of Villa Rosa neighborhood consuming drugs with her boyfriend,” the report added.
